Services We Offer

Our Collection: Approximately 44,000 print and audio-visual items; including 58 magazines and 5 newspaper subscriptions. Specialty collections: Large Print, ND, George Johnson Genealogical, Scandinavian , and Microfilm (Devils Lake Journal Only).

Internet Access: Wi-Fi, in addition to 8 public access computer stations. A library card or guest pass is required to sign onto these computers. NOTE:  We do not filter or block content and the library staff DOES NOT supervise users. For policies on computer use please see our Library Policy page.

eBooks & eAudiobooks : Via library2go. Just use your library card to log in after you download the Overdrive or Libby app on your preferred device and start reading and listening immediately.

NEWSBANK: NewsBank is a digital collection of newspapers and magazines. Log on to http://www.newsbank.com/, from a library computer or log on at home.

INTER-LIBRARY Loan’s (ILL’S) : If Lake Region Public Library does not have a specific item in our collection we will request to borrow the resource for up to a month from other libraries for a fee of $3.50 per item.

Copy/Printing:  10 cents per page for Black and White. 50 cents per page for Color.

Fax/Scan Service: 50 cents per page, sending or receiving.

Microfilm Reader/Printer: LRPL has just received a grant for a digital Microfilm Reader. Stay tuned for more details about its installation. We house the Devils Lake Journal from Printing costs are the same as copy print costs (above).

Story Time at the Library: September through April the children’s Library hosts story time  for pre-schooler children Mondays & Thursdays @ 11:30 AM. A parent/guardian must also attend. Includes a fun activity/craft.

Research: Time permitting, a staff member can assist in limited research (such as obituaries) for a fee of $10/hr.

Test Proctoring: The director will proctor tests as requested for a fee of $10/hr. Please call ahead to schedule a time.

Books For Sale: Lake Region Public Library reams up with the AAUW (American Association for University Woman) for a bi-annual book sale in the Spring and Fall every year. In addition to this, select titles are for sale in the library year round.

Additional Programming: Throughout the year Lake Region Public Library hosts different fun and interesting programs for the public, including the Summer Reading Program, Fright Night, And others as announced. Check out our website or the chamber of commerce calendar for upcoming events.

Non-Residents: Non-Residents may purchase a yearly pass to borrow from the collection at $10/person or $20/family.
